While many people focused on the bigger stories of the Hurricane including the flooding aWalking on Dead Fishnd destruction of so many homes and businesses – this film explores the story of a local high school football team struggling to accept the changes of post-Katrina life.  The town of LaPlace is located about 30 minutes west of New Orleans, and was spared the flooding experienced in greater New Orleans area.   After Katrina, the town of LaPlace nearly doubled in size and East St. John High School took in 500 new students, whose schools had been destroyed by the storm, including many football players trying to find a place to play.

Walking on Dead Fish follows the lives of the coaches and players who struggled through those first few months after the hurricane.  The film is the first by director Franklin Martin and is produced and narrated by Terry Bradshaw.  Martin has childhood ties to the New Orleans area and Bradshaw is a native of northern Louisiana.  For more informatoin please visit their website www.walkingondeadfish.com.
